Bofoh (“we”, “us”, “our”) is a UK-based technology enabled digital platform for the hospitality industry. As part of our platform services, Bofoh aggregates hospitality industry news, market intelligence, editorials and trade notices from a variety of third-party media sources and content publishers.
We respect the intellectual property rights of creators, journalists, and publishers. It is our policy to comply with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (17 U.S.C. § 512) (“DMCA”), the UK Copyright, Designs and Patents Act 1988, and all applicable copyright laws. We respond promptly to clear notices of alleged copyright infringement.
1. News Aggregation & Content Attribution
When Bofoh aggregates news from third-party sources:
- Source Attribution: We clearly identify the original publication, outlet, or author for each news snippet or article reference.
- Canonical Links: We provide direct links back to the original source website so readers can view full articles on the publisher's site.
- Fair Excerpts: We limit aggregated summaries to headlines, short excerpts, or brief promotional summaries in accordance with Fair Use and Fair Dealing principles.
2. Filing a DMCA Takedown Notice
If you are a copyright owner, publisher, or authorized agent who believes in good faith that any content, aggregated news snippet, image, or material on Bofoh infringes upon your copyright, you may send a formal written notice to our Designated Copyright Agent.
Your notice must include the following information:
- A physical or electronic signature of the copyright holder or a person authorized to act on their behalf.
- Identification of the copyrighted work claimed to have been infringed (or, if multiple works are covered by a single notice, a representative list).
- Identification of the material claimed to be infringing or to be the subject of infringing activity, including sufficient detail (such as the specific URL on Bofoh) for us to locate the material.
- Your contact information, including your full legal name, address, telephone number, and email address.
- A statement that you have a good faith belief that use of the material in the manner complained of is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
- A statement that the information in the notification is accurate, and under penalty of perjury, that you are authorized to act on behalf of the owner of an exclusive right that is allegedly infringed.
3. Designated Copyright Agent Contact

4. Action Upon Receipt of Notice
Upon receiving a complete and valid DMCA notice, Bofoh will:
- Expeditiously remove or disable access to the allegedly infringed material.
- Notify the content provider or user responsible for posting or submitting the material, forwarding a copy of the notice.
5. Counter-Notification Procedure
If you believe your content was removed or access was disabled by mistake or misidentification, you may submit a written Counter-Notification to our Designated Copyright Agent containing:
- Your physical or electronic signature.
- Identification of the material that was removed or disabled, and the location where it appeared before removal.
- A statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good faith belief that the material was removed or disabled as a result of mistake or misidentification.
- Your name, address, telephone number, and email address, along with a statement consenting to the jurisdiction of the courts for the judicial district in which your address is located (or the UK courts if outside the US), and accepting service of process from the person who submitted the original notice.
If a valid counter-notice is received, Bofoh may restore the material in 10 to 14 business days unless the original claimant notifies us of a legal action seeking a court order.
6. Publisher Preferences & Direct Removal Requests
We value constructive partnerships with hospitality publishers and content creators. If you are a news publisher and wish to update attribution, modify how your RSS/news feed is indexed, or opt out of automated aggregation altogether without filing a formal DMCA notice, simply contact us at [email protected]. We will honor your publishing preferences promptly.
7. Repeat Infringer Policy
In accordance with applicable law, Bofoh enforces a policy of terminating, in appropriate circumstances, the accounts or access privileges of users or automated feeds determined to be repeat infringers of intellectual property rights.
